AGRI-INDUSTRIAL SPECIALISTS

Recent Projects

We are excited to be involved in so many great projects in Western Canada, supporting a broad spectrum of agri-industrial clients. Active and past projects include: seed plants, feed mills, grain receiving and storage, seed treating, flake processing, dust collection systems, packaging and warehousing, fertilizer manufacturing and distribution, oat milling flour milling, fibre processing and protein/oil/starch fractionation.

CANADA MALTING

One of several projects that anCeres has supported Canada Malting on involved the construction of a new adjunct malt flakeprocessing facility, and integration to a previously constructed packaging/warehousing process. anCeres was engaged to provide process design, 3D modelling, preliminary electrical and controls design, dust collection design, electrical area classification and dust hazard analysis.

GS DUNN

When the client was in process of acquiring the former Spitz sunflower processing facility from PepsiCo and converting it to a mustard receiving and cleaning site, anCeres provided asset due diligence support, process design and general arrangement services.

BUFFALO CREEK MILLS

Over a multi-year period, anCeres provided Buffalo Creek Mills initially with Owner advisory and due diligence support during acquisition of the site and conversion from edible bean processing to oat processing. Subsequent growth and expansion on the site has included the installation of byproduct pelleting, pasteurization, flaking and flour production processes, and at each step, anCeres has acted as the coordinating professional.

BRETTYOUNG

When BrettYoung decided to undertake their most recent expansion in Winnipeg, they engaged anCeres to provide process design, dust collection design, and general arrangement modelling. We also conducted hazardous area classification and dust hazard analysis for the new facility, and provided preliminary electrical and controls design to facilitate the engagement of a design-build electrical and controls contractor.

GLOBAL FOOD AND INGREDIENTS

GFI recently decommissioned a lentil splitting facility and utilized the empty building shell for construction of a new pea splitting line. anCeres worked with the process/equipment supplier to deliver the necessary 3D modelling and general arrangement services. Additionally, we supported the Owner in their project management, contract management and cost control activities, and also provided preliminary electrical and controls design for the design-build contractor.

C-MERAK INDUSTRIES

In this greenfield oat and faba processing facility, anCeres undertook the challenge of providing process design that could accommodate a swing operation between diverse commodities. We also provided dust collection design, hazardous area classification, dust hazard analysis, and preliminary electrical and controls design.

HUSSAR SEED CLEANING COOPERATIVE

Hussar's project objectives included upgrading their grain receiving and shipping capacity at the cleaning plant, and adding high speed seed treating. anCeres provided process design, 3D modelling and general arrangement services, in addition to project management, contract management and cost control. As part of the preliminary project design effort, we evaluated options for future expansion, and incorporated expansion requirements into the final design.

SEMICAN

Semican wanted to construct an oat mill at an existing facility that had some open floor space but limited height. anCeres provided process design, 3D modelling, and preliminary electrical and controls design. We also worked with the Owner to develop their knowledge of the industry and milling process, and provided operations and food safety training in parallel to site commissioning.
